Our shelves and bargain tables are groaning with books from all genres. We are passionate book lovers and take pride to provide you with something just a little bit different than what’s on offer in the big chain book shops. And we won’t chase you if you spend ages inside our cozy shop.
We buy, sell and exchange used books in our dedicated second hand bookshop. And we always do our best to track down good second hand copies of rare, out of print or hard to find books. So pop in and bring your old books along and take a new read home with you.
Share your love of reading and talking about books by joining our free Book Club. We have reading groups for teenagers and young children on several Saturday mornings during the year, plus a monthly adult book club. Check out our Latest News page for more info.
If you are unable to find the book you came in for, our friendly staff will do all they can to hunt it down for you. If we don’t have it in stock, we can order a book especially for you. We’ll give you a call when it has arrived and there’s no postage cost if you pick it up.
And while you’re browsing for books, why not check out our latest gift items? Like a funky mug for yourself or a lovely card for that special someone else. Or pick the perfect present from our selection of quirky toys. You’re guaranteed to find something to suit any taste at great value.
A Note on Second-Hand Books:
Our price is based on their secondhand retail value, which takes into account an item’s desirability, it’s price new and our current stock levels.
These are our general guidelines:
No rips, tears, stains or odours
No writing or highlighting (owner’s name written in the front is fine)
No loose pages
No broken bindings
No library or ex-library books
No proof copies or books marked “not for resale”
All hardcovers should have a dustjacket (if originally sold with one)
All books that included media (CDs, DVDs, maps etc) should have them
We don’t buy magazines or out-of-date travel guides.
