This week we received a big delivery of new cross-stitch stock, including books, patterns and cross-stitch kits. 

Cross stitch is becoming an increasingly popular hobby along with embroidery, knitting and crochet. It is also one of the oldest forms of embroidery! 

It is one of the easier stitching crafts to learn as there are no complicated stitches or techniques. Cross stitch patterns use simple X-shaped stitches on an evenweave fabric to make a grid like pattern. 

You can cross-stitch with fabrics such as linen and aida. We currently stock aida fabric in a range of colours for €5.50 per 39cm x 45cm square. 

Your finished cross-stitch pieces can be made into decorative wall hangings, tablecloths, appliqués, cushion covers and much more!

Recently more contemporary cross stitch designs have become popular. One of our new cross stitch books '"I got 99 problems but a stitch ain't one" includes a variety of these more modern cross stitch projects. Some examples of patterns from this book include stitched phrases such as "What Would Beyonce Do?" and " No speaking before coffee".

Any of these new books or cross-stitch kits would be a great Christmas or birthday present. There is so much variety in the types of cross stitch projects you can do, so there is bound to be something to suit everyone!
