DIY Festival Fashion Part 1
Posted by Emer on 6th Aug 2014
Glastonbury has been and gone, and I’m not going to lie I spent a good portion of my weekend watching all the festival fun on TV, all the while completely jealous of the lucky individuals who got to attend. On the bright side I am going to Electric Picnic at the end of the summer and found loads of inspiration for festival style that is not only very easy to make yourself, it won’t break the bank and will be made just to suit you. So here I have compiled all the best looks and accessories together, all of which will be possible to create using items found in our store, allowing you to be on trend and let your inner festival fairy show!
Floral Crowns
These bad boys can be seen everywhere at the moment. Not only are they a staple accessory for such celebs as Lana Del Rey and Pixie Lott, they can also be spotted at every festival and in all shapes and sizes. Whether you want to go big and make a statement, or keep it cool with a subtle touch, floral headbands are the perfect solution.
Not only are they a quick and effective way to instantly transform a normal outfit into a festival worthy one, they are also incredibly easy to make yourself. This means that you can pick your colours and style of flowers to match your taste, outfit or even hair colour. Here are two different types I made using some of the different types of flowers that we have in store. All I had to do was wrap the stems of the flowers around the hairband, it’s that simple!
Embellished Sunglasses
Rain or shine, sunglasses are still a must have for any festival go-er for keeping both the sun and the drops out of your eyes! With that in mind, instead of wearing a plain pair of sunglasses why not go mad and decorate yours to instantly stand out. There are so many ways to do this that are so simple and cheap. You could use a sharpie to add some tribal designs, paint, chain, or add embellishments to add something extra. These examples immediately caught my eye!
I decided to give it a go myself using some of the embellishments we have in store along with my trusty glue gun and I was quite happy with the results! For a step by step demonstration for both of the pairs shown in the picture, have a look on our website >>HERE<<!
