Make Crepe Paper Cherry Branch - Step by Step Guide

STEP BY STEP
Step 1.
Take five thin floral picks and cut three of them in half to make eight stems in total.
Step 2.
Print out the template, which you can find as a separate PDF on this page. Cut out all the pieces and start assembling the flower. Start by cutting a fringe in the piece for the stamens and glue it around the stem using a glue gun – first twist it around the stem and then around itself. Make eight in total.
Step 3.
Shape each small petal by pulling on the centre of the flower so that the petal starts to curl.
Step 4.
Glue three petals around the stamens.
Step 5.
Cut a piece of light green crêpe paper measuring 1 x 30 cm in the direction of stretch – remember to stretch the piece out completely. Glue one end of the strip over the bottom of the petals for a nice finish. Cover the stem with the crêpe paper strip – twist it diagonally down the stem, glueing it as you go along. If you like, glue a small leaf onto the stem and bring it into the twist so that it covers up the patch of glue.
Step 6.
Repeat steps 2–5 on all eight stems – cover the half stems completely and cover the two long stems to around one-third down.
Step 7.
Wrap the bottom of a half stalk around one of the long stalks – place it where the brown wrap stops and then continue covering on top of the two stalks. You can add a leaf to cover the overlap if you like.
Step 8.
