Scrim is a finely woven fabric and is made from a blend of linen and cotton fibres which gives it its own unique feel. It is often used for things such as an eco-friendly material for bags, rug making, upholstery and antique restoration trades, as well as for wiping etching and drypoint plates prior to printing. The fact that it is a linen-mix makes it very absorbent, lint-free, and able to dry out quickly which is why George Formby was such a fan when he was cleanin' windows!
